Mathematics

Our Mathematics courses are of great importance in terms of raising our students as active, productive and creative individuals and preparing them for the future by equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to make a contribution to the progress and development of our country. Our main goals in our mathematics lessons are to increase our students' self-confidence in solving problems in daily life for a happy and quality life, to follow advanced level mathematics and to enable our students to understand mathematical concepts and establish relations between these concepts in order to use them in other learning areas.

After the primary school education, we offer mathematics courses covering a range of topics for the Grade 6, 7, 8 students by implementing the Pearson Edexcel International Lower Secondary (ILS) curriculum. The primary goal of the maths program designed for the middle school is to equip the Grade 6, 7 and 8 students with information and skills in mathematics that will form the basis for the upper level, namely high school. In case of need, students are provided with supplementary math courses. Additionally, the Mathematics Club functions under the umbrella of the mathematics department.

At the end of Grade 8, during the transition from secondary school to high school, students are placed in GCE classes in line with their interests, competencies and preferences. Students enrolled in GCE classes are prepared for IGCSE and A level mathematics exams that they can take until the end of Grade 12. Preparation courses are implemented on both weekdays and week-ends and supported by mock exams.

Furthermore, relevant students are provided with mathematics preparation courses for the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) exam, which is organized by the College Board and required for admittance to undergraduate programs of US universities.
